The Director of Roads, Jose Guijarro, accompanied by the mayor of Abarán, Antonio Gómez, today placed the first stone of the works of the highway that connects Abarán White, MR-B17, which will streamline communications between municipalities.
The improvement works will mainly via the tarmac and modification of the radii of some curves, which will give drivers a more comfortable and safer movement.
The works comply with the passage of the cattle route Colada de la Cuesta de Ricote, situated along the road, so as to get a total integration of the action with the environment.
The Highways Agency will also install new signage to facilitate the location of this road, which serves as a transit point for walkers, cyclists and passage of cattle.
The Director General of Highways said that "through works that begin today will be increased road safety and provide motorists traveling more comfortable and agile in all its path, thereby improving communications between the towns of White Abarán a road along which about 340,000 vehicles a year. "
This project represents an investment of 233,160 euros, including the asphalting of the road to increase durability and improve their performance by improving the radii of some curves and the construction of a drainage system to remove water from springs that affect pavement.
Also planned is the cleaning and conditioning of ditches, construction of access to adjoining properties, the placement of protective railings and curbs and signals the renewal of horizontal, vertical and beacon.
Jose Guijarro finally stressed that "this action, which has a deadline of four months, is included in the Road Safety Plan for the Highways Agency, which provides for the improvement of many sections of the 3,000 km of roads comprising the Autonomous Community Network. "
