The president of the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura (CHS), José Salvador Fuentes Zorita, and Mayor White, Rafael Laorden, today visited the works to adequacy of the Rambla de San Roque in the area of the mouth in dam of Ojós, which has invested 550,000 euros.
This project, part of the Special State Fund for Promoting the Economy and Employment (on whose execution has been entrusted to the CHS), has solved the problems caused by the progressive accumulation of sediments, which had come to silt up the boardwalk after a long period of drought and floods.
The project has provided clean, expansion and stabilization of the mouth of the Rambla de San Roque by 2,700 square meters of area protected by riprap.
This measure facilitates the evacuation of storm water and reduce the potential for flooding.
These works have included the placement of gabion 1500 square meters in 850 meters of the river, and environmental regeneration with native species.
On the other hand, were repaired and improved the roads affected by the boardwalk to avoid disqualification by torrential rains.
Thus, frames have been restored by prefabricated drains.
Overall, the CHS has equipped 6,500 square meters of boardwalk and repair as many roads and service roads.
