The Minister of Culture and Tourism, Pedro Alberto Cruz, accompanied by the mayor of the municipality, Rafael Laorden, and representatives from any municipal corporation, yesterday inaugurated the Independent Book Fair held in White until Sunday October 4, and whose activities involving more than 30 publishers.
In the opening ceremony, which was enlivened by a clarinet quartet and a saxophone belonging to the musical group from White, the writer Carlos Jimenez Arribas read the official proclamation of the Week and Literary Editing Independent Blanca (SELINA) , which defined the meaning of independent literature as that which serves no major advertising campaigns.
The opening session began with the introduction of two new books, 'The monopoly of the word' and 'I have a gun', the authors Larraz and Enrique Fernando Rubio, respectively.
Before this presentation, moderated by the director of Cendeac, Miguel Ángel Hernández-Navarro, conducted a writing workshop, taught by Professor of the Universidad Popular de Cartagena, Lola Fernandez, and a talk about the picture as an added value and as an independent genre, moderated by Pablo Cano, head of communications for the City of White and professor at the Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia.
It involved the illustrator and comedian Juan Alvarez and comic book writer and writer Miguel Ángel Marín.
It also offered the symposium 'The independent publishing', with the participation of responsible publishers Manuel Ortiz Artist (Editorial Nausicaa), Eduardo Moreno (Editorial El Olivo Azul), Irene Anton (Editorial Errata Naturae), Jesus Egido (Editorial King Lear) , Daniel Ortiz Peñate (Editorial Ladder), María de los Ángeles Esteban.
