Over 5,000 benefit from Murcia places of residence, day care centers, occupational and health centers throughout the region early

The regional government president, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, White opened today in the Residence and Day Care Centre 'Our Lady of Sorrows', which has 54 residential places and 40 for the Day Centre in total, with the opening of these new facilities, the Community offers over a thousand places in day care centers in the municipalities of the Region.

In addition, with the places of residence, occupational centers and call centers early, there are more than 5,000 of Murcia benefiting from these services in the Region of Murcia.

Valcárcel, accompanied by Mayor White, Rafael Laorden, and the Minister of Social Policy, Joaquín Bascuñana, toured the new residence, located in the Garden of Conde Street, in which the Community has invested more than 1,600,000 euros, and the City other 556,000.

Following the opening of this center, the president said that "the regional government meets the objective of improving social policies and offer the best services to those most in need in all municipalities in the region."

Valcárcel stressed "the quality of services offered to users of these centers," not only by new infrastructure, but for specialized care of all the staff working there.

Of the 54 places of residence that offers this new center, 25 are subsidized by the Community.

In addition, the Day Centre 40 seats, 15 are reserved specifically for people affected by Alzheimer and other dementias.

The new building offers comprehensive care for elderly people with health care, social, and occupational rehabilitation and the opportunity to participate in socio-cultural activities and recreation.

It counts with different departments of nursing station, kitchen, dining room, living rooms, recovery rooms and a total of 30 rooms.

This property is particularly suitable for the disabled and elevators have specially prepared for the specific use of residents.

Day Care Center will have the resources necessary for basic personal needs and the socio-health patients, and is offered as an alternative to residential accommodation in order to ease the burden of dependency for the family unit.
