The Royal Association for Disability has awarded the town of Blanca, Spain between the municipalities of fewer than 10,000 inhabitants, for its policy in favor of urban accessibility.
This has made it clear this afternoon's meeting at the palace of La Zarzuela, of this institution, who chairs the Reina Sofia, and attended by the Minister of Social Policy, Women and Immigration Joaquin Bascuñana.
After the meeting, the Minister stressed the importance of the award, since, as noted, this is the first municipality in the Region has been awarded by the Royal Board with this award, "which is a great honor, and that as the jury foreman said, there had been many and varied projects to pursue this recognition. "
Bascuñana said: "The award is an endorsement to the policy of the City of Blanca, yes to the regional government that works and supports the local executive to carry out their work in an area which is devoting priority attention."
Similarly, the Minister took the opportunity to encourage other municipalities in the Region in 2009 to achieve the same, in line with the autonomous administration, through the development of their plans for access for the disabled.
