Youth Association 'Nomad' host in White until 28 September, a European youth exchange with the participation of 35 young people aged between 13 and 30, and from Estonia, Slovenia, Italy, Malta and Spain.

The director of the Institute of Youth in the Region of Murcia, Veronica Lopez, attended the welcome ceremony for young people which lived in the municipality of Murcia.

In this event also attended by Mayor White, Rafael Laorden, the council of the municipality Youth, Jorge Molina, the Councillor for Culture, Mercedes Candel, and the president of the Nomads, Ismael Juarez.

This exchange is part of the European program "Youth in Action 'which is aimed at young people from member states of the European Union and third countries, and has as main objective to promote European citizenship and solidarity of young people to strengthen social cohesion in Europe.

The European Union spends 885 million to this program for 2007-2013.

This is the first cultural exchange of this nature occurring in White and is also the first organized by the nomads of the municipality.

During his stay in the town, young people can exchange experiences and knowledge about the characteristics of their home countries and get to know the cultural diversity of Europe.

Programs like this, as Veronica Lopez, "offer young people the opportunity to learn different languages and cultures," noting that "during his stay in the region's young people can share experiences with others of different social realities."

Cultural Heritage "(Youth and Cultural Heritage) participants will learn the roots of Murcia culture through a wide variety of activities ranging from workshops focusing on the traces of Arab culture has left in our region, as local cuisine courses Murcia .
