SYNOPSIS:
La Estrella de Sevilla is one of the tragedies of our reference theater of the Golden Age we are facing a powerful piece that tells a supposed historical events that took place in Seville.
We are located in the XIII century.
The King Sancho el Bravo first arrive to this city and is captivated by the beauty of Star Tavera.
The desired, and its purpose is to get all the sooner, bypassing who is third.
Interestingly, although the action is set in the thirteenth century, is clearly reflected in the period in which it was written, around 1630. King Philip IV and his minister Olivares visited Seville in 1624. As The Star itself has a clear political purpose for the time.
Clearly moved some advice on the problems of an absolutist monarchy and capricious.
The work does not hide its critical position in the sovereign subterfuge or baroquisms.
It is direct, clear, unambiguous.
We are facing a medieval approach where absolute power versus the modern conception of the citizen appears.
Because the subjects begin to demand their rights against despotic arbitrariness of their monarchs.
Star is the light, hence the name, which has remained blind and dark without intuiting the truth for most of the work.
But in the last section, and incandescent lights shining for us thanks to its light reach the epiphany (recognition) and the final vicissitudes.
Steps involved in this tragedy purifies us as individuals and to prevent us evenly matched with those events we've attended.
