The President of the Autonomous Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, White opened today in two pedestrian walkways on the River Segura, seeking to revitalize the margins as it passes through the municipality's urban core.
The head of Murcia, accompanied by the mayor of White Rafael Laorden, toured the new playground that was created with the construction of these bridges and that is the opening of new spaces for the use and enjoyment of residents and visitors, such as the gazebo, a swimming area and walking area, and the extension of a rail trails.
Moreover, the construction of these power and wide walkways interconnecting the river banks, continuing both bicycle and pedestrian routes already exist.
It also implies an improvement of infrastructure and sports recreational use, since the township population had increased use in recent years.
The total project represents an investment of 515,424 euros, of which the Community contributes 386,571 euros through the Directorate General for Transport and Ports.
Moreover, the Autonomous € 23,500 funded with other architectural design, selected in 2008 through a design competition organized by the City Council.
The intended uses of the two bridges are for pedestrian and cyclists, with a wide bike lane intended as 2.50 meters, and pedestrian use of 1.50 meters.
