White City Council has renewed some of its street lighting with the installation of 311 lighting points with LED technology involving energy savings of 67% over previous lights.

The new points of light have been installed throughout the district's high Palomo and several areas located in the Old Town.
"This initiative is part of the corrective measures on energy saving, carried out by the Local Agenda 21" White said Mayor Rafael Larden.
The investment amounts to 117 000 euros from an agreement with the Ministry of Industry, through the Agency for Energy Management in the Region of Murcia, ARGEM.
According Laorden, this measure is within the Energy Savings Plan drawn up by the Municipal, where the facilities and solar photovoltaics on public buildings cover.
"The municipality has a solar energy facility located in the municipal swimming pool and five of photovoltaics that are installed at the Occupational Center in the Residence, in the Day Centre and Sports Halls of White and neighborhood of the Station, with an investment of more than one million three hundred thousand euros, "said the mayor blanqueño.
