The Department of New Technologies, Universal Access and Training organized a conference aimed at schools, where the ONCE Foundation has agreed to collaborate with the municipality was awarded the Queen Sofia Prize Accessibility.
The International Day of Persons with Disabilities was held in the town of White with a guide dog shows and mobility, carried out by three representatives of the organization ONCE.
The seminar, organized from the council of Universal Accessibility, New Technologies and Training, held at the Cultural Center Miguel Ángel Abenza of the town.
Activities began at 10 am with a talk about rehabilitation techniques, orientation and mobility to people with physical disabilities, attended by children aged 5 and 6 of local primary schools.
After this explanation, gave way to the exhibit with guide dogs, where children were very interested.
Following this, representatives of ONCE, responsible for carrying out the activities, held another exhibition of mobility, where the students were very active.
Besides these activities, the rest of elementary school students have developed throughout the week, drawings related to the day of the disability to participate in a contest sponsored by the City Council, with the same reason.
The Department of New Technologies, Universal Access and Training, the town of Blanca, showed a high degree of satisfaction with the involvement of neighbors, and the efforts by schools to raise awareness among the smaller importance of the Disability Day.
Councilwoman Maria Carmen Molina Fuentes stressed "the importance of activities that have been carried out to show solidarity with the smallest and integrate these people as much as possible."
Molina added that the "people been making efforts in this direction for some time, even receiving the prestigious Queen Sofia to the Universal Accessibility."
