Sounds and food come together in the twelfth edition of the international landscape workshops White (30/09/2010)

The landscape workshops have been held in the town since 1999.

Artists such as Joan Fontcuberta, Enrique Marty and local Pedro Cano have been part of them in various editions.

This year Jose Antoni Miralda Iges and taught courses.

This issue highlights the novelty of two workshops on music and cuisine.

A total of 20 students are learning the soundscape and the specific area of the municipality through its food culture and traditions.

Have already begun international landscape workshops are held for eleven years in the town of Blanca.

As in previous editions of two courses that are taught in this issue, notable for containing two art forms that had not yet developed, music and cuisine.

The workshop students 'Ritual Eating Culture: White' have come to the weekly market to interfere with the citizens of Blanca and further develop eating habits and rituals of the area.

So that, during the morning, around 20 students have captured the sounds and talked with residents of the municipality of customs, folk games and traditions.

Also purchased various products and tested dishes of local cuisine as sausage and onion marinade cake, among others.

This workshop has to do with the food, the folklore and the people who make up the environment where the landscape is defined as human tissue, as an area where establishing relationships and rituals, in this case food.

The course is taught Antoni Miralda, a multidisciplinary artist from the 60's has experimented with photography, film, sculpture, collages, murals and gastronomy, among others.

In recent years he has focused his work on the relationship between food and culture as a way of knowing the nature of each population.

The other workshop that is being developed is related to music.

It is a way of interpreting the sounds of the landscape and their teacher, composer and sound artist José Iges, has titled Play Blanca.

Under this premise, the artist will attempt to delve into the idiosyncrasies of Blanca from the different sounds of their natural environment and its people to form their "soundscape."

In addition, the city has benefited from the presence of James Cirujeda as a lecturer.

Cirujeda gave a talk last night which was defined as a "social architect", because his work attempts to exploit legal loopholes to benefit the community, proposing "urban recipes" or new forms of architecture.

Cirujeda, addressed in the field of urban reality, issues such as ephemeral architecture, recycling, strategies for urban intervention and occupation, the incorporation of prosthesis to buildings or public participation in decision-making processes on urban affairs.

The workshops will finish on Sunday 3 October.
