The agreement between the City Council and the Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities will increase the number of places available in the Day Center by three and will be added to the current 25 places.
The mayor of Blanca, Esther Hortelano, has agreed with the Minister of Family and Equality of Opportunities of the Autonomous Community, Violante Tomás, the increase in the places offered at the Day Center of the municipality.
This commitment is part of the intention of the consistory and the Regional Government to increase the level of social protection, taking into account the demographic evolution of the Region.
The agreement modifies the agreement signed on December 30, 2016 by which 25 places were created in the day center for the care of dependent elderly people.
The mentioned agreement already contemplated this possibility in its tenth clause, allowing in the future the modification of the number of places, the number and type of professionals required for the provision of the service and the total cost thereof.
On the other hand, this extension guarantees the specialized attention needed by the elders of our town hall, allowing them to enjoy the services of the center, within their usual environment and in the company of their relatives.
Regarding the economic contribution, the Murciano Institute of Social Action will contribute to the current budget about € 19,000 that will be added to the previous total of the service.
