The Ministry of the Presidency and Development has completed the repair works of subsidence and improvement of drainage on the RM-553 highway, which connects the urban center of Blanca with the A-30 highway (Cartagena-Albacete).
It is the main access road to the town, which annually supports an average of 1.3 million trips, of which 51,500 correspond to trucks.
The Director General of Roads, José Antonio Fernández Lladó, together with the Mayoress of Blanca, Esther Hortelano, visited the road and explained that an "integral action" has been carried out in which more than 109,000 euros have been invested to repair the road. the section affected, clean slopes and renew the horizontal and vertical signage.
"The performance will significantly improve the circulation of this road, which is just over 5.5 kilometers long and is a very busy road to be the main access to the town from the highway," said José Antonio Fernández Lladó, who added that The firm has also been reinforced to solve the existing unevenness that made driving difficult, especially heavy vehicles.
Fernández Lladó said that the Community is working on the drafting of a project to reinforce the road surface, which will include the relocation of different pedestrian crossings and overhangs on the urban stretch of this road, so that it is better adapted to the needs of the traffic and pedestrians.
