A solidarity march and a sports race are the events that merge this Sunday in the III Walking White Runners that takes place in Blanca and that has been presented this morning at the UCAM Sports Center.
Pablo Rosique, general director of Sports of the UCAM;
Alicia Barquero, general director of Women and Equality of Opportunities of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia;
and Juanma Molina, president of the Athletics Federation of the Region of Murcia, have commented on the highlights of this competition.
Pablo Rosique highlighted the solidary nature of the event, a key aspect to have the participation of the UCAM: "For our University is always an honor to collaborate with these races and competitions that have a charitable character." It is always important to associate solidarity with the values ​​of the sport and for that reason we are delighted to participate and collaborate ".
For its part, Alicia Barquero has also highlighted the solidarity aspect focused on women through Red Madre but also the opportunity to give visibility to the fight against gender violence in this race: "Part of the collection of the numbers is intended to an association of women such as Red Madre, with which we collaborate, in addition, our participation in this event is also framed in the programming of performances for November 25 that will be the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. Therefore, in the test you can also acquire a purple tie symbolizing the fight against gender violence ".
Juanma Molina has offered the most technical details of the event: "This race starts the circuit of regional races of mountain races (running mountain) .This test goes beyond a sports competition, it is a social, playful and supportive event and that is why we encourage not only the inhabitants of Blanca, but also the rest of the runners of the Region and neighboring provinces to participate in. It is the first season of a series of fourteen races.The test consists of 16.2 kilometers and covers some emblematic places like the Azud de Ojós or La Navela, it's a wonderful area for sports and it's going to delight anyone who likes to exercise outdoors. "
