The Ministry of the Presidency and Development has formalized the contracting of repairs to subsidence and improvement of drainage on the RM-553 highway, which connects the urban center of Blanca with the A-30 highway (Cartagena-Albacete).
The announcement is published today in the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia.
The general director of Highways, José Antonio Fernández Lladó, explained that there will be a "comprehensive action" to improve the access road to Blanca from the A-30 highway, which will have an investment of more than 109,000 euros.
"The works include the repair of the road surface in the affected section, sanitation of slopes and renewal of horizontal and vertical signaling," explained the director, who indicated that, in addition, the firm will be reinforced to solve the existing unevenness that makes driving difficult, especially when it comes to heavy vehicles.
José Antonio Fernández Lladó said that "these works will significantly improve the circulation of this road, which is just over 5.5 kilometers long and is a very busy road to be the main access to the town from the highway."
The road supports 1.3 million vehicle trips per year, of which 51,500 are trucks.
In addition, the Ministry is working on the drafting of a road reinforcement project on the entire road, which will include the relocation of different pedestrian crossings and overhangs on the urban stretch of this road, so that it is better adapted to the needs of traffic. and pedestrians.
