The mayor of Blanca, Ester Hortelano, met this morning with the Minister of Presidency and Development, Pedro Rivera, who has announced that in October work will begin on the repair of the damages caused on the road RM-553, which connects the urban core of Blanca with the highway A-30 (Cartagena-Albacete), as a consequence of the intense rains.
Rivera indicated that this work will allow to act with immediacy in the highway, although it advanced that the Autonomous Community will contemplate in the budgets of the next fiscal year the integral improvement of this highway since it requires "a repair and more complete renovation".
The counselor stressed that these actions are "essential" to improve Blanca's communications with the rest of the Region, given that it is the main access to the locality from the motorway and accumulates an annual traffic of 1.3 million vehicles.
The first action, to begin in October, is to repair the subsidence and blandones of the road and the damages caused by landslides and stones on the road after the December rains.
And it will reinforce the firm, heal the slopes, renew the signage and improve the drainage system of the road.
As for the integral repair, the technicians of the General Direction of Roads are writing the project of improvement and reinforcement of the firm in all the highway, that has an extension of 5.5 kilometers.
Visit to the Local Police
In his meeting in Blanca, Rivera visited the Integral Center for Citizen Security where the regional government has invested through the Citizen Security Plan about 3.3 million euros, an amount that has been earmarked to pay ten of the fifteen agents which currently has the Local Police, in addition to the acquisition of material means.
In the current year, the amount destined to this end is 300,000 euros.
In addition, and within the same Plan, the Government has ceded ownership of a police vehicle.
