The Community and the municipality of Blanca will invest 194,000 euros of the Action Plan for Regional Dynamization of Works and Municipal Services (POS) of 2016 and 2017, managed by the Ministry of Finance and Public Administrations, in the recovery of the municipal park, The Hermitage of San Roque and the extension of the social center.
The Director of Local Administration, Manuel Durán, met the mayor of the town, Esther Hortelano, to learn first hand the evolution of the projects that are being implemented through this Plan and the needs of the municipality.
In particular, work has begun on the recovery and improvement of the San Roque Hermitage, which consists of an action on a total area of ​​1,324 square meters.
The works include the installation of a new pavement in the area of ​​road for traffic of 700 square meters and a performance in the rest of the space destined for leisure, with the dimensioning by a curb separating the recreation area of ​​the road .
It also includes the installation of sets of tables and wooden benches interspersed with trees for shade.
The execution period of the works is one month and the total investment of 38,750 euros, of which 35,300 euros are contributed by the Autonomous Community and the rest by the City.
The works of conditioning of the surroundings of the municipal park are in process of adjudication.
The works will focus on improving the access on the existing staircase in the west, in the street Frutas del Levante, with the repair of the four sections of steps and the installation of a railing that improves the safety of the staircase.
A shade of textile fabric will also be installed on a metal structure in the children's play area, which will allow children to use the games for more hours a day, and replace the concrete pavement and lawn, which is very deteriorated by the Step of time, by a pavement of pieces of concrete of cobblestone type, more comfortable and safe for the neighbors.
The planned investment is 52,000 euros, of which 47,363 are contributed by the Community, and the execution period of the works is one month.
7.8 million euros to subsidize 65 works in 41 municipalities
In addition, the Regional Government recently approved the Works and Services Plan for 2017, for the 41 municipalities of the Region of less than 50,000 inhabitants, which includes more than 7.8 million euros, of which six are covered by the Community Autonomous, increasing the endowment by 20 percent compared to the previous year.
In total, 65 works will be subsidized, mainly paving, renovation of public lighting, works in public parks, water supply and sewage, reforms in cultural facilities, social centers, markets and supply stores, and civil protection services.
The municipality of Blanca will be allocated 103,173 euros (98,000 from the Community) in order to expand the social center of the town.
The objective of this Plan is to articulate the collaboration of the regional government for the integral and adequate provision of services of local competence, as well as to reduce the deficit in the infrastructures and basic equipments of the municipalities of the Region with population less than 50,000 inhabitants.
In order to select these actions, it has been taken into account that the projects have been submitted to citizen participation in each of the municipalities, and it has counted with the collaboration of the municipalities that have requested the actions through the corresponding local agreements and the elaboration of projects Technicians.
In addition, it has submitted to the Regional Council of Local Cooperation, in which are represented the municipalities of the Region.
On the other hand, the president of the Region of Murcia, Fernando López Miras, announced at the Council of Mayors, held on June 6, that the Works and Services Plan for 2018 will be biennial with the objective of That municipalities can carry out major works, since they will have more funding and more time for their execution.
