Blanca will host next Friday, June 9, the institutional act of the Day of the Region, in commemoration of the XXXV Anniversary of the Statute of Autonomy of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia.

José Manuel Claver
José Manuel Claver Valderas (Cartagena, 1955Murcia, 2016) receives this distinction posthumously for his work as head of the Central Syndicate of Irrigators of the Tajo-Segura Aqueduct (Scrats), as an institutional recognition and of the whole of Murcia society to his work and his trajectory.
Colonel Lawyer of the Navy in the reserve and lawyer collegiate in Cartagena, Murcia and Madrid, his work in favor of the irrigation of the Region of Murcia began in 1982 as a founding member of Scrats and member of the Board of Government since its constitution.
His work in the Scrats was initially developed in advising his legal aspects, being Secretary General with the two presidents who preceded him in the position.
Claver also authored newspaper articles on the transfer and doctrinal work on its legal aspects.
In June 2009 he was appointed president of Scrats, an entity representing some 80 irrigation communities and thousands of irrigators from the provinces of Alicante, Almeria and Murcia.
José Manuel Claver has been a decisive figure in the Tajo-Segura transfer.
He defended the interests of thousands of farmers in the Region of Murcia and the need to supply water to a irrigable area that amounts to more than 130,000 hectares of Spanish southeast and in turn generates about 100,000 jobs.
Faculties of Letters and Philosophy of the University of Murcia
The faculties of Letters and Philosophy of the University of Murcia (UMU) receive this recognition to their educational and research trajectory of more than a century of existence, begun in 1915.

The group owns 168 patent families and exports its products to more than 70 countries.
Manuel Torres has always been committed to innovation and technology transfer in sectors as diverse as aeronautics or energy and dedicates a high percentage of his company's turnover to investment in R & D & I.
He is member of the Advisory Council for Science and Technology of the Ministry of Industry and jury of the Prince of Asturias of Science and Technology.
Donation and Organ and Tissue Transplantation Program of the Region
The Organ Donation and Transplantation Program of the Region receives this distinction for placing the Community as a national leader in organ and tissue transplants and donations, in a matter in which Spain is the first internationally.
The Transplant Coordination of the Region and the Hospitals of the Murcian Health Service was created in 1990 to organize the various programs implemented in hospitals.
The first organ donation and transplant program began at Arrixaca Hospital in 1984. The first kidney transplant was performed in July 1985 and the first liver transplant in May 1988
The Organ Donation and Transplant Program of the Region of Murcia is the result of the work of a large number of professionals involved in a complex work and has led the Community to become a worldwide reference in this field.
Hospitals in the Region increased the organ donor rate again in 2016, this time nine points above the national average, which allowed for 373 transplants of organs and tissues, an increase of two per cent over the year previous.

The Association for the Defense of Disability (Astus) was founded in 1967 and since then has worked to achieve the integration, both family and social, of people with intellectual disabilities or cerebral palsy, with the mission of improving their quality of life , As well as that of their families.

Astus is a member of Plena Inclusión Región de Murcia (formerly FEAPS-Murcia Region), the federation of organizations in favor of people with intellectual disabilities and cerebral palsy.
