Today, at 14:45, the Ministry of Health has advised us to restrict the use of drinking water due to the result of the last analysis (date of January 5, 2017), which slightly exceeds the limit of established trihalomethanes.
It is a preventive measure, pending the analyzes that are still being carried out.
From the day the first warnings appeared, 12/31/2016, this consistory and the company that manages the water in our municipality, Blanca Fomento Social, have been in constant contact with both the Commonwealth of Taibilla Channels and with the Ministry of Health, through the General Directorate of Public Health and Addictions, awaiting the results of the analytics that have been carried out to ensure the correct supply as indicated in Royal Decree 140/2003.
Received the recommendation of the aforementioned Directorate General at 2:45 pm today, residents are advised not to drink tap water until further notice.
The water is suitable for cooking, laundry or personal cleanliness.
The Director General of Public Health, Manuel Molina, said this morning that "it would be expected that it would have harmful effects on health would have to take huge amounts of water."
