The fifteenth edition of Triathlon Villa Blanca reunited more than two thousand people in the city to enjoy this sport where athletes have to travel 750 meter swim down the river, 20 km cycling and 5 km race walk
Mayor Sergio Fernández and María Jesús Pérez Torrente were the absolute winners of the test
White Triathlon, organized by the Department of Sports of the city council, established himself as one of the regional circuit testing any triathlete wants to miss.
A total of 223 triathletes started the race on the beach of Arenal.
First they did the women, followed by the men, who after 750 meter swim were about to take the bike, encouraged by the more than two thousand spectators who thronged the Avenida del Rio Segura to see transitions and arrival goal.
After traveling the 20 km bike and 5 foot race, the young triathlete Mayor Sergio Fernandez crossed the finish line first with a time of 56:55.
Behind him came Pujante Hector Garcia (57:52) and Ramon Alberto Navarro Canovas (58:22).
In females, María Jesús Pérez Torrente was the first to cross the finish line with a time of 1:10:08.
Cristina López Utrera (1:10:12) came second and Maria Antonia Peñalver Ballesteros (1:10:18) in third position completing feminine podium.
