The Department of Environment of the City of White has launched an environmental campaign to encourage recycling of electrical and electronic equipment WEEE.
This initiative is encompassed in the project 'White Clean and Green' which began in December in order to keep the city clean by involving the population.
According to the Councillor for the Environment, Antonio Jose Molina, this campaign is aimed at businesses and citizens.
"We intend to promote the correct tank electrical and electronic equipment out of use," said the mayor blanqueño in his presentation this morning.
In order to collect the most of this waste, the City of White with GIS RESTART and member establishments have established collection points Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), batteries and accumulators (RPA).
To publicize this initiative, the city council has distributed leaflets and posters in reporting what is an electrical and electronic equipment as well as places that can be deposited.
In this case, for small electronic appliances, lighting and batteries may be deposited in municipal and adhered to the campaign throughout the year local facilities.
It has also established a point opposite the police station for the collection of WEEE and RPA, only Thursday, coinciding with the weekly market.
For Molina, collaborating establishments play a key role since "will become prescribers and allies in the campaign contributing to the dissemination of the importance of recycling of WEEE and showing their social responsibility."
Establishments are Ibelán, Hardware Saez, SGM Computer Services, Hardware Gran Vía and Gontriser.
The points will be installed in municipal offices at City Hall, at the Residence and Day Centre in MUCAB and in White Station in Social Home.
