The University of Murcia has commemorated the fifteenth anniversary of the investiture as doctor honoris causa of the white painter Pedro Cano with the presentation of the book "Naturae de las Tierras de Murcia", where watercolors and drawings of fruits and flowers that can be found anywhere surroundings of the Region of Murcia.
The presentation of the book took place, yesterday, in an act held in the cloister of the Faculty of Law of the University of Murcia, which was attended by the Rector of the UMU, José Luján, the Director General of Cultural Goods, Rafael Gómez, the Mayor of Blanca, Pedro Luis Molina, and the Councilor for Culture, Sole Ríos.The book was born from an initiative of the Rectorate of the University of Murcia and has been published thanks to the support of the Institute of Cultural Industries and the Arts of the Region of Murcia and the CajaMurcia Foundation.Pedro Cano remembered with great emotion the day of his investiture and the importance for him the honoris causa distinction by the University of Murcia, the institution that opened the doors for his first exhibitions.From the Blanca city council we want to join in the commemoration of the fifteenth anniversary of the investiture as doctor honoris causa of the painter Pedro Cano from Blanque and we convey our most sincere congratulations on behalf of the entire Government Team.
