Blanca City Council acquires 150 rapid diagnosis tests for its workers most exposed to the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
The test will be carried out on the employees and residents of the Virgen de los Dolores Residence and Day Center, the Blanca Local Police Force and the staff of the cleaning and home care service. The Blanca City Council has acquired 150 seriological tests, also known as rapid diagnostic tests, which will allow, through the detection of IgM and IgG antibodies present in the blood or plasma of a person, to become aware of a SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infection.
.
This test does not identify the RNA of the virus, but they detect the antibodies produced, which is another way to find out if the patient is or has been infected. Seriological tests will be carried out as a protection measure for those workers in the consistory who have been most exposed and are infected with the COVID-19 virus.
Mainly, the test is going to be done to the employees and residents of the Virgen de los Dolores Residence and Day Center, to the Blanca Local Police Force and to the staff of the cleaning and home care service. The tests will be carried out by the sanitary specialists of the Blanca Health Center, since these tests do not require laboratory equipment and show the results in approximately 15 minutes. The acquired tests are included in the list of tests available for the diagnosis of COVID-19 from the Foundatio for Innovative New Diagnostics (FIND). FIND is an organization that is working together with the World Health Organization to accelerate development and access to diagnostics as part of the global response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This diagnostic resource center is designed to assist policy makers and health care providers with up-to-date test information for SARS-CoV-2, the causative agent of COVID-19.
