This fair, which will take place on April 25 and 26, is one of the events that make up the programming of Murcia Spanish Capital of Gastronomy 2020. Its celebration includes live tapas elaborations, samples of typical products and tastings, among others activities.
Jos Ballesta: "This gastronomic event was born as a tribute to the gastronomy of the interior of the Ricote Valley, extolling its most emblematic products, such as lemon and fruits."
The mayor of Murcia, Jos Ballesta, together with the Minister of Tourism, Youth and Sports, Mara Cristina Snchez, the mayor of the municipality of Blanca, Pedro Luis Molina, and the Councilor for Tourism of Blanca, Ana Beln Lpez, presented this morning the 'I Gastro Encuentro del Valle de Ricote' in the Hall of Mirrors of the Romea Theater, which will be held in Blanca on April 25 and 26, with samples of typical products, cooking workshops and preparation of live dishes, among others activities.
“Our Gastronomic Capital is an open and participatory celebration in which we are going to demonstrate, all together, what Murcia are able to do when we work together, celebrating this time a tribute to the cuisine of Blanca and the interior of the Ricote Valley , extolling its most emblematic products, such as lemon and fruits, ”said Jos Ballesta.
The celebration of this gastronomic fair, in which the attendees will be able to taste quality tapas, as well as learn to cook them and savor the typical products of the Ricote Valley and the Region of Murcia, is part of the program of Murcia Spanish Capital of Gastronomy 2020 and the tourist plan 'Blanca, Heart of the Ricote Valley'.
"Our greatest satisfaction is that all municipalities are represented and have the opportunity to show their gastronomic excellence during this year of Gastronomic Capital," added the mayor of Murcia.
During the event, which was also attended by the painter Pedro Cano as a representative of the municipality of Blanca, where he was born, there was a preparation of typical dishes, by Rodi Fernndez, cook and advisor to the 'I Gastro Encuentro del Valle de Ricote'.
A unique environment between the mountain, the Huerta and the river
This gastronomic event will be held in a unique environment, such as the avenue of Ro Segura de Blanca, along the river, between vegetation and water;
an enclave that is surrounded by natural landscapes, Huerta, fruit trees, citrus and palm trees.
The opening of this gastronomic fair will take place on April 25, at 1:00 p.m.
Likewise, its celebration involves the deployment of gastronomic workshops for the whole family, live music, chef talks, elaboration of live tapas, etc.
Attendees of the 'I Gastro Encuentro del Valle de Ricote' may purchase tapas for two euros, beer for one euro and wine for 1.5 euros.
Registration until April 23
In the 'I Gastro Encuentro del Valle de Ricote' there will be about 14 stands, dedicated to restaurants, wineries and shops in the food sector.
Those interested in participating in this gastronomic fair can register until April 23 by presenting their proposal at the City Council of Blanca.
