The municipality of Blanca celebrated on the afternoon of yesterday, Saturday, the last of the 6 days that have been part of the Regional Triathlon League, which began in April with the triathlon of Marina de las Salinas in San Pedro del Pinatar .
Marked by the intense heat and the irruption of the wind, almost 200 triathletes threw themselves into the waters of the Segura River where the swimming sector takes place, departing from the El Arenal Fluvial Beach and arriving at the Canoeing Club jetty.
The first to take the start were the women in a competition in which the triathletes of CT Murcia Unidata, Andrea Marco and Sonia Gómez occupied the first and second place on the podium.
Marco lifted the winning ribbon with a time of 1 hour, 9 minutes and 43 seconds.
Gomez stopped the clock in 1 hour, 10 minutes and 45 seconds while the triathlete of La 208 Triathlon Club, Margarita Mas, took third place with 1 hour, 11 minutes and 53 seconds.
In the men's category, the victory was for the current Regional Duathlon Champion, Welcome Ballester, of the Tep Triathlon Archena Industries, which stopped the clock in 56 minutes and 56 seconds.
The second position went to the triathlete of the CT Arabí Yecla Catlike, who made a time of 57 minutes and 36 seconds.
The third to cross the finish line was Andrés Méndez, of the Águilas Primaflor CT, with a time of 57 minutes and 49 seconds.
