'Siete', Pedro Cano's exhibition on the drama of the refugees that houses the Sala Verónicas de Murcia, of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, has received 11,000 visits since its opening.
Prior to the closing of the exhibition, which will be on Sunday, July 28, the artist from La Blanca will return to the space on the afternoon of Friday the 26th to erase the ephemeral work he created with several interventions before the public.
The exhibition, composed of seven black and white triptychs (21 works of 120 x 180 centimeters), as well as drawings, material from the artist's studio and the ephemeral work, reflects the drama of ten thousand Albanian refugees who arrived at the Italian port of Bari. aboard the vessel Vlora in August 1991.
The director of the Institute of Cultural Industries and the Arts, Marta López-Briones, said that "the works of Pedro Cano in the space of Veronicas overwhelm and make anyone who visits this exhibition, which is being a great success, reflect, and that comes to conclude with the disappearance of the ephemeral work with the intervention of the creator painting in black on it ".
Under the names of 'Espera', 'Juego', 'Interior', 'Salto', 'Cargo', 'Bicicletas' and 'Trabajo', Pedro Cano takes a tour of the drama, overcoming difficulties, generosity and life, all marked by poetry, vitality and energy.
The exhibition, organized by the Ministry of Culture with the sponsorship of the Casanova Trinitarian Foundation, can be visited in the Sala Verónicas de Murcia until July 28, from Tuesday to Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and on Sundays, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
