Nursing professionals from Blanca, Abarán and Cieza have taught about 400 patients self-care guidelines thanks to a project in the Vega Alta del Segura area.
Thus, activities have been carried out in the areas of prevention, health promotion, family care and community care.
The topics that have been taught have been adapted to the needs expressed by users and health professionals and have addressed issues such as guidelines for eating well, sleep hygiene, the role of patient associations, myths and truths about medicines, the development of emotional intelligence or the risk of suffering from diabetes and hypertension, among others.
This program has been developed from October to June with the aim of improving the self-care of the population and implementing strategies to prevent the disease from the involvement of people in the care of their own health.
The idea is to incorporate an active model for health that favors the uptake and active participation of users, as well as caregivers and health professionals, through a permanent project that takes place in monthly sessions.
To this end, this intervention project has been initiated, which aims to enhance the role of Primary Care in improving the health of citizens.
Since 2010 care groups have been carried out for carers under the slogan 'Caring for and taking care of oneself', and as a result of this space, progress has been made in the promotion of health and in the improvement of lifestyles, not only of people who care but the population in general.
