The president of the State Mercantile Company of Agricultural Infrastructures, Alejandro Alonso, and the president of the Community of Irrigators Zone II of Las Vegas Altas and Media del Segura-Blanca (Murcia), Juan Jesús Cano, have signed today, at the headquarters of the Delegation of the Government, a regulatory agreement for the financing, construction and operation of the modernization works of the irrigation of Phase III of this action, which will affect 547 hectares located in the municipality of Blanca.
The event was chaired by the government delegate, Francisco Jiménez.
The planned works, whose budget is 1,331,000 euros (VAT included), contemplate the installation of a pressure group with two motors that allow to pressurize the irrigation network to be built, as well as a filtering station and seven complete hydrants;
In addition, 2,200 meters of pipeline will be executed and a remote control system will be integrated.
The project, in short, provides for the modernization of the irrigation system to complete 100% of the one executed by SEIASA in the two previous phases, actions that affected a total of 2,973 hectares and benefited 456 irrigators.
The works carried out in Phases I and II, currently in operation, had an investment of 25,443,201 euros (VAT not included) and consisted of the construction of three rafts of 574,837 m3;
539,958 m3 and 411,651 m3, in addition to a main pipeline of 69 km;
135 hydrants;
two pumping stations;
two filtering stations;
medium and low voltage lines;
a center of transformation and remote control via radio.
This new action in the Region of Murcia, appears in the First Addendum to the Agreement between the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the State Mercantile Society, for the establishment of the general criteria of action of the Society, in relation to the promotion , contracting and exploitation of the modernization and consolidation works of irrigation, contemplated in the planning of the Ministry and declared of general interest.
