The Autonomous Community improves the regional road that connects the urban center of Blanca with the A-30 highway (Cartagena-Albacete), which reaches 3,560 journeys a day.
The work of the RM-553 road involves a regional investment of 272,000 euros and has been completed one month before the originally scheduled date.
The action consisted in the reinforcement of the road surface in 2.5 kilometers of the road and the relocation of different pedestrian crossings and shoulders in the urban section of this road, to adapt it better to the needs of traffic and pedestrians.
In addition, a reinforced concrete wall, 1.2 meters high, has been made to prevent the dragging of the rains from invading the road.
The Minister of Development and Infrastructure, Patricio Valverde, and the Mayoress of Blanca, Esther Hortelano, inaugurated today these works, which have also involved the replacement of vertical signage, the cleaning of scuppers and drainage ducts, the milling of the areas of pavement in poor condition, and the painted road markings.
Patricio Valverde explained that these improvement works have been agreed with the neighbors and the City of Blanca, especially in relation to the placement of the shoulders, with the aim of minimizing the inconvenience.
The regional manager said that "the action is part of a comprehensive renovation of the road." Last year, a first phase was undertaken, with an investment of 109,000 euros, which consisted of the rehabilitation of slopes and the renewal of signaling "
