The Ministry of Development and Infrastructure improves the RM-553 highway, which connects the urban center of Blanca with the A-30 highway (Cartagena-Albacete), which reaches 1.3 million trips per year.
The work supposes a regional investment of 272,000 euros and will conclude in March.
The action consists of strengthening the road in 2.5 kilometers of the RM-553 highway and will also involve the relocation of different pedestrian crossings and ridges in the urban section of this road, so that it better adapts to traffic and transportation needs. of pedestrians.
The Minister of Development and Infrastructure, Patricio Valverde, and the Mayoress of Blanca, Ester Hortelano, visited the improvement works today, including the replacement of vertical signage, the cleaning of scuppers and drainage ducts, the milling of pavement areas in poor condition, and the painted road markings.
Patricio Valverde recalled that "the action is part of a comprehensive renovation of the road, of which last year and an investment of 109,000 euros was undertaken which consisted of the rehabilitation of slopes and the renewal of signaling."
In addition, a reinforced concrete wall, 1.2 meters high, will be made to prevent the dragging of the rains from invading the road.
