The Ministry of Development and Infrastructure awarded the improvement works of the main access road to Blanca from the highway, which may start in September.
The action will involve an investment of more than 272,000 euros and the execution period will be four months.
It is the regional highway RM-553, which connects the urban center of Blanca with the A-30 highway (Cartagena-Albacete).
The works will consist of road reinforcement on the entire road, which will include the relocation of different pedestrian crossings and ridges on the urban stretch of this road, so that it is better adapted to the needs of traffic and pedestrians.
The Minister of Development and Infrastructure, Patricio Valverde, announced this novelty to the mayor of Blanca, Esther Hortelano, during a meeting in which they discussed the situation of infrastructures in the municipality.
Valverde stressed that "the action on this highway will benefit 1.3 million vehicle trips per year, of which 51,500 are heavy."
The counselor explained that "this work is part of a comprehensive improvement of the road that began last year with the rehabilitation of slopes and renewal of horizontal and vertical signage, for an amount of 109,000 euros."
