Thanks to the collaboration between the General Directorate of Natural Heritage and Biodiversity and the City of White, former San Roque School, located next to the chapel of the same name, have been restored as a basis for forest fire fighting brigade (Forest BRIFOR) of the municipality.
The General Directorate of Natural Heritage and Biodiversity, through the Unit Forest Fire Prevention, has been working on building a network infrastructure that support the actions carried out in the field of prevention and protection against forest fires the Region of Murcia.
Some of the infrastructures that allow the proper operation of emergency operations in case of forest fires are the bases that are home to Forest Land Brigades.
These brigades are composed by 8 people, 6 specialists working every day, which are always accompanied by an environmental agent in the event of action by wildfire.
Currently the Region of Murcia has a total of 19 brigades and 4 Forest Land Rapid Intervention Brigade (3 persons traveling in pick-up, reducing response times in emergencies), besides the 3 Brigade helicopter transport to travel to the fire by helicopter.
With the recent restoration works have been recovered abandoned facilities that once served as a rural school, making a working basis for White's forest brigade equipped with a sitting area and kitchen staff, an office for the Environmental Agent command of the brigade, a warehouse for tools and manual machines, toilets and a training room with capacity for 12 people.
The investment made for their rehabilitation includes complete renovation of the roof, interior and lighting, haunting performance of 90,000 €.
And improving the geographical coverage of service personnel assigned to the prevention silvicultural and fire management in the Region of Murcia where white terms for the start of the Age of High Hazard marking the Infomur Plan for next June 1 .
