The director general of Natural Heritage and Biodiversity, Pablo Fernandez, along with Mayor White, Rafael Laorden today opened the new base of the forest brigade in this town, located in the old schools of San Roque.
Fernandez said that "Unity Forest Fire Prevention is working on the consolidation of a network infrastructure that support its actions."
In this regard noted the importance of "recovering abandoned facilities to give them a new utility, improving the working conditions of personnel assigned to the service of prevention and protection against forest fires."
The restoration of the building represents an investment of 90,000 euros, which have been co-financed with EAFRD European Union.
Training Room has capacity for 12 people, an office for Environmental Agent in charge of the Brigade, kitchen, bathroom and sitting area and a storage area for tools and machinery.
The Murcia Region currently has 19 brigades and four Forest Land Rapid Intervention Brigade, and three brigades helicopter transport.
