Former Culture Minister commended the work of the Mayor, Rafael Laorden in its firm commitment to make White a place for art, "a privileged destination in cultural tourism."

"Poetry helps me to be a better person," said Cesar Antonio Molina last night, the author who gave continuity to Rio de Letras, the national meeting of writers organized by the City of White through its Department of Culture.

The prolific writer of Blanca proposed to a literary journey through his creations, his dream places of those areas "where there is neither pain possible."

Thus, his nimble prose moved the imagination of hundreds of people attending a real literary introspection, a journey through the thinking and writing many of his favorite authors.

Before his speech, and after being presented by the painter Pedro Cano, Molina confessed to the audience his satisfaction "to these people who firmly believes in cultural tourism."

The former culture minister wanted to thank also the Mayor of White Laorden Rafael, who was present at the event along with the councilman of Culture, Mercedes Candel, that in times of crisis continued faithful to his ideas and made of White, who artists' village was already "a town of culture in the Region of Murcia."

The conference that gave the then director of Instituto Cervantes, was entitled 'The world through my writing', so that the audience immersed in a profound journey to the question that, according to Molina, is a writer and same "being active and travel, knowing the most wonderful places in the world, or else go without leaving your site through your imagination, where there are no limits."

In this sense, the poet and essayist, told of his latest book, Places to calm the pain, the author insisted that they are sites where the human being is free of concerns, in what he called as " a sort of no man's land. "

A text that Molina travels the world to teach the reader to the locations at which "for an instant" you feel free passage of time and becoming.

In those places, he said, "there is no death, no evil, no pain, no worries."

His tour of these places begins in Naples (Italy), where his Colina 'Polisipo' which means "where you can not pass anything" and you find, as the author, as in heaven.

"I got this idea because there are places where at least a moment he feels that one is free from death, evil, pain and concerns" confessed Molina.

Naples, where he began the book, said it was "a very special place" for him and where Miguel Cervantes said, "was the only place where he had been happy" and cited other classics such as Garcilaso de la Vega, Valera, Gómez de la Serna and the current Arturo Perez Reverte as some who also revered Naples.

"If I lose, I find there," although the book cites other sites located in China, India and the United States, among others.

The versatile author concluded by saying that after death begins a long journey, "perhaps the longest journey."

The national gathering of writers, Rio de Letras, will continue next Friday, May 14, with the participation of Miguel Aranguren, author of books like The blood of the pelican, Bombay and Monsoon on the minister's daughter, his last novel.
