The Day Centre celebrates 10 years (20/11/2014)

On November 23, 2004 Day Centre for Older White was inaugurated by the then President of the Autonomous Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel and Mayor White, Rafael Laorden.

This Sunday marks 10 years that the Center has been developing its social function as gerontological social therapeutic center and providing support to the family during the day, attention to basic, therapeutic and social needs of older people, promoting adequate autonomy and remain in their usual environment

Day Centre. Objectives and Principles

The purpose of this resource guide is to improve the quality of life of the family caregiver and the elderly person, through an intervention led by a party to provide comprehensive care to the older person and the other to provide the necessary support family to enable a more adequate permanence in their usual environment.

The specific objectives on which turns our intervention are grouped around three main protagonists of the intervention: the elderly, the family caregiver and professional caregivers.

- Objectives aimed at the older person:

- Retrieve and / or maintain the highest degree of independence possible.

- Delay or prevent addiction through the empowerment and rehabilitation of cognitive, functional and social skills.

- Develop self-esteem and encourage a suitable psycho-emotional state.

- Avoid or delay unwanted definitive institutionalization.

- Objectives aimed at the family caregiver:

- Provide free time and rest.

- Provide guidance and advice.

- To provide knowledge, skills and develop attitudes that contribute to improving the quality of care for the elderly.

- To prevent family conflicts related to the role of caregivers.

- Encourage collaboration between the family and the center.

- Objectives, for professional caregivers:

- Provide, from continuing education, knowledge, skills and attitudes to ensure a qualified dispensing comprehensive care.

- Foster an environment conducive to positive interactions enabler and a sense of job satisfaction, social climate.

- Principles underlying our intervention

- Comprehensive care.

Covering the functional, psychological and social needs of the elderly.

- Concept of globality.

In the process of intervention interact: the elderly, caregivers, environment (physical and psychosocial) and community context.

- Care with an interdisciplinary approach.

Different professionals work under the philosophy, objectives, methodology and common actions in relation to the intervention process.

- Professional practice with a deep respect for human rights (privacy, privacy, dignity, freedom ...) of the elderly.
