White commemorates the 400th anniversary of the expulsion of the Moors from the Valle de Ricote (11/12/2013)

The municipality has organized a series of events to commemorate the fourth centenary of the Expulsion of the Moriscos Ricote Valley, last Arab stronghold of the Peninsula, taking place during the 14th and 15th December.

Among the events highlights the Moors and Christians Parade to be held on Sunday 15 at 16.30.

White, December 11, 2013 -. White Township celebrated during the 14th and 15th December commemorating the fourth centenary of the Expulsion of the Moriscos Ricote Valley, last Arab stronghold in the Iberian peninsula.

The mayor of the municipality, Rafael Laorden, presented the program this morning, and stressed the importance of events to be held in White, which is expected to "serve as a link between the two cultures."

In programming, which bears the image a work of the painter Luis Molina, features a parade of Moors and Christians that took place on Sunday the 15th, at 16.30, and will feature the participation of Abu L'abbas and brackets Knights and Dames of the Arrixca Sana Maria, of Murcia, and Al-ates and Fronteros Knights of Cieza, as well as the entertainment groups Boato Nyla, The Informal and White Music Group.

The commemoration of the fourth centenary of the Expulsion of the Moriscos Ricote Valley will begin this Saturday, the 14th, with a cultural tour of the old town of Blanca and visit the exhibition 'wear and Arabic crafts' organized in AADK Negra Center.

The cultural route will start at 10.30 am at the Museum of Light and Water, after free registration, and at the end a tasting of Arabic pastries will be offered.

The Victoria Theatre will host the afternoon, at 18.30, the official commemoration where video-docuemntal 'Ricote Valley, last Moorish stronghold on the peninsula' prior intervention of the official chronicler of the Villa Blanca will be screened Angel Rivers.

The Brotherhood of St Bartholomew, Cieza, will speak at the event with a performance of the Moorish expulsion after the dance group Boato Nyla offer a repertoire of belly dance.

The City of White bestow on those attending the event, which will be free, with the expulsion comic illustrated by painter Álvaro Peña.

The events continue on Sunday, the 15th, at 11.30 hours signaling the venue of the Medieval and Moriscos Councils Ricote Valley in the place of Solvent, organized by the cultural association La Carrahila aljamas.

At 12 pm Craft Market hosting a tasting of Blanca and typical Arabic sweets made by the Association of Women and Moroccan women.

The Moors and Christians parade (Sunday 15, 16.30) will end the days of commemoration of the fourth centenary of the Expulsion of the Moriscos Ricote Valley, for which the city council has had the collaboration of the official chroniclers of White Angel Rios and Govert Westerweld, and the Office of Tourism manages the company Inexhaustible Ricote Valley.
