The jury finds the two grants stay to artists in residence La Negra (30/08/2012)

The Madrid Helena De Llanos and Italian Nico Angiuli were selected by a jury composed of professors from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Murcia, who have been awarded a scholarship each stay at the residence La Negra, located in Black Center.

During the six months, lasting a minimum scholarship, De Llanos made a film about White while Angiuli conducted three related actions sculpture, dance, video, performance and writing.

The mayor of the municipality, Rafael Laorden, announced this morning that the two residency fellowships for artists 'La Negra' have been ruled in favor of Helena Fernandez De Llanos and Nicola Angiuli.

Both artists will start work on 1 October and will develop for at least six months duration of the scholarship, and that according to the foundation can benefit from an extension of another six months.

De Llanos, born in Madrid in 1983, White reaches in order to conduct an intervention on the town cinema.

According to the draft, the Madrid artist intended to be the locals who participate in the project and "create together a film that has no pretax charges, or narrative, or aesthetic."

According to the artist, the team involved in the film, formed by citizens of the municipality, will have a part to show the people of White.

De Llanos focused his studies in the world of letters degree in Hispanic Studies.

He moved to the U.S. to pursue a doctoral degree that allowed him to approach the visual world which understood that this was the medium that best met their artistic creations and realized that what I wanted was to make films.

The other scholarship has been awarded to Italian Angiuli Nico, who proposed a job that will deepen the relationship between contemporary technology, the human body and work in agriculture.

The room is divided into three parts that will work on the sculpture farming utensils, a dance and video linking agriculture and a story.

The first part of the project consists of a sculpture cycle of reuse and recovery of some historical agricultural tools such as scythes, sieves, plows or hoes to be adapted to the modern world.

The second part relates to the art of dance with agriculture so that the Italian artist will conduct research on the techniques and technologies for agriculture which will meet farmers, historians, dancers and local communities, in order to create a video file that collects agricultural gestures.

The third of the actions that take place during their fellowship Angiuli stay is related to the writing of a story from the reflections on historical, social and economic issues with the crop.
