La Comunidad Unveils the White House Artisan, a new arts center for cultural and tourist promotion of the municipality (28/09/2010)

The new center is located at the foot of the Sierra del Solan and supplemented with other actions for the recovery and value of heritage and urban environment of the Castle

The Minister of Public Works and Planning, José Ballesta, the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Pedro Alberto Cruz, the Minister of Universities, Business and Research, Salvador Marín, and Mayor White, Rafael Laorden, today inaugurated the Casa Taller Artisan Blanca, a new arts center will contribute to the promotion of culture and tourism of the municipality.

The new House Workshop is located at the foot of the Sierra del Solan and is part of an integrated action for the recovery of historical heritage and urban environment White Castle, a twelfth-century fortress was declared of Cultural Interest (BIC).

The facility features over 1,000 square feet and feature open spaces for organizing cultural activities, exhibitions and workshops to develop classroom crafts, an activity with a strong tradition in White goes back to medieval times region.

Next to the new craft, the Community has also built a housing and workshop for artists and artisans.

In addition, the regional government and the city recently completed rehabilitation works around the Castle District.

Different actions have made a total investment by the Community and the City in excess of 1.7 million euros.

During the visit, he also inaugurated the exhibition 'Medieval White Recovery', which were the work of the students of Architecture Workshop held this summer.
