The Community earmarked 900,000 euros this year to serve the most vulnerable groups in Blanca (16/02/2018)

The Minister of Family and Equality of Opportunities, Violante Tomás, met today with the mayor of Blanca, Esther Hortelano, to discuss the various projects that the Ministry develops in the municipality and highlighted the 900,000 euros budgeted to attend this year to the collectives more vulnerable.

The most significant departure is that of care for the elderly, with 776,938 euros to finance the 68 places that the Murciano Institute of Social Action (IMAS) has contracted in the Day Center of the City Hall and the Virgen de Los Dolores Residence.

According to the counselor, "the goal with older people is to improve their quality of life with active aging programs, attention to vulnerable people, all based on values ​​such as the dignity of the person, humanism and solidarity."

The program that the IMAS offers in day centers includes workshops on health and wellbeing promotion, personal development and life cycle, and training, social participation and volunteer projects.

The Minister of Family also committed to the mayor of Blanca to maintain this year's aid of 4,560 euros to reconcile work life for families in the municipality.

In this regard, specified that the General Directorate for Women and Equal Opportunities will finance recreational and educational projects for non-school periods intended for children between 3 and 12 years, the expansion of hours in schools, extracurricular activities and babysitting or care services punctual.

The Community this year allocates more than 400,000 euros to promote the reconciliation of work, personal and family life with direct aid granted to the 45 municipalities.

Tomás said that "this line of subsidies is part of the regional government's strategy to promote female employability and self-employment in the Region of Murcia."

They are grants that are financed by 80 percent through the European Social Fund.

The Mayoress of Blanca has also expressed her intention to sign the collaboration agreement with the Autonomous Community for home help service.

For the Primary Care Social Services in Blanca, this year 2018 is allocated 80,000 euros, an amount similar to the previous year.
