The Sacramental Brotherhood of Servitas of Our Lady, Our Lady of Sorrows, presented last night at the Ramón Gaya Museum in Murcia, the new image of Cristivara dedication that will parade for the first time on the afternoon of Saturday of Passion (eve of Palm Sunday) for the streets of our municipality.
Blanca de Mayo, Ester Hortelano, and the Councilor for Culture, Ángel Pablo Cano, attended the presentation ceremony, among other personalities.
The work, by the image maker José María Molina Palazón, represents the image of Christ embracing the Cross, faithfully fulfilling the Father's mandate, by which he must die to redeem men from sin.
The Christ will be known under the invocation of the HOLY CHRIST REDEEMER OF THE SOVEREIGN POWER OF HEALTH OF SOUL AND BODY.
Likewise, the Lenten acts that the aforementioned Brotherhood has organized for Lent 2018 and that coincide with the 25th anniversary of the appointment of our Patron as Mayor Perpetua de Blanca were presented.
Among them, highlights the arrival for the first time to our town of the Lignum Crucis, in this case the relic property of the Archconfraternity of the Precious Blood of Christ, which is venerated in the Church of Carmen of Murcia.
The relic will arrive in Blanca on the evening of Ash Wednesday, being received in the Plaza de la Iglesia by the civil and religious authorities of Blanca.
Then he will make, in solemn procession, his entry into the temple of St. John the Evangelist.
On Friday, it will take the solemn Via Crucis through the narrow streets of the old town of Blanca.
The stations of the same, will be meditated by different associations of religious and civil scope of Blanca.
The Pedro Cano studio and the Black Art Interpretation Center will be some scenarios where these stations take place.
