The mayor of Blanca, Ester Hortelano, went this morning with members of the Government Team to the delivery of a new vehicle to the Volunteer Group of Civil Protection of Valle de Ricote, whose headquarters is in Blanca.
The counselor of the Presidency, Pedro Rivera, has been in charge of making the delivery to the president of the association, Erika Robles.
With this new vehicle provided by the Ministry of the Presidency, the response capacity and service will be improved in carrying out mobile surveillance patrols against forest fires that this group carries out in the municipalities of Blanca, Villanueva del Río Segura, Ricote, Ulea and Ojós.
At the ceremony, which was also attended by the mayors of Ulea and Ricote, Rivera said that "security, in all its facets, is a priority for the regional government, and that is why we promote the improvement of the resources necessary to provide better service and greater protection for the 12,000 inhabitants of these five municipalities. "
The counselor thanked the members of Civil Protection for their efforts, and for all those who, like the firemen or the local police, "watch every day of the year so that the neighbors feel safe, and intervene promptly and efficiently every time that a situation requires it. "
