Blanca's children become writers for the eighth consecutive year (16/10/2018)

Today has started the eighth edition of the 'Write to read' project promoted by the City of Blanca in collaboration with the General Council of the Children and Youth Book, with which the children of the municipality of 5th and 6th grade of Primary and 1st and 2nd Secondary will write a story

The schoolchildren of Blanca have started one more year, and now there are 8 consecutive years, the 'Write to read' project.

An initiative of the Municipal Consistory together with the General Council of the Children and Youth Book with which the promotion of reading through writing is sought.

As every year, the project is sponsored by a writer who in this edition has fallen in the figure of Pilar Lozano, winner of numerous prizes of Children and Youth Literature.

Today has begun the project with the reading of the Proclamation by the godmother, who has told a story with nymphs, gods and mythological beings of which almost 400 schoolchildren who filled the seats of the Victoria Theater, has not lost detail.

During his speech, Lozano has indicated that she is "absolutely sure that within a few years, it will be a writer or writer of the municipality who has the honor to give this proclamation, and to help other children to begin the adventure of writing a story".

From the beginning of the school year, future writers are investigating the figure of their "godmother" with the reading of some of his books such as 'Marco Polo was not alone', 'Manu detective' or 'Gustavo's trips', among others .

In addition, throughout the school year will have different meetings with the author and they will explain the threads that form their books, especially the emotional threads and work with them in a writing project.

Until the Christmas holidays, children and young people participating in this initiative to "write to read" will study, through simple guided exercises "at a distance" by the writer-godmother, and in light of his work, the essential components of every literary story , while thinking about the kind of story they would like to write.

The deadline for submission of their literary creations will be March 15 to conclude, as every year, on the International Day of Children and Youth Book (Hans Christian Andersen Day) to be celebrated on April 2.

That same day, the members of the Jury appointed by the White City Council and the General Book Council will issue the decision.

With all the finalist stories, a book will be prepared and distributed at the beginning of the next edition of the "Write to Read" Project, in October 2019.
